McDull has loved food since he was a piglet — especially pineapple buns and egg tarts from the cha chaan teng. One day, walking past the wet market, he saw perfectly good vegetables and bread being tossed into the bin. His heart sank. He thought: I'm a pig who loves eating — how can I stand by and watch food go to waste?

So McDull stepped up to become Food For Good's Food Appreciation Ambassador. He visits schools, community centres, and housing estates, using the simple stories he tells best to remind children and adults alike: every grain of rice, every vegetable, is worth cherishing. His catchphrase: "Cherishing food is a blessing."

McDull believes reducing food waste isn't a slogan — it's a daily choice: eat right, store well, sort correctly.

Potato was once a forgotten tuber in the corner of a kitchen. One day, he sprouted — and by the rules, sprouted potatoes aren't safe to eat. Potato was terrified: Am I going to become food waste? Is this the end of my story?

But fate intervened. Potato wasn't thrown into the bin. Instead, he was brought to the Food For Good Kwai Tsing Recycling Centre. There, Potato saw that food waste isn't garbage — after processing, it becomes compost, animal feed, even electricity. He had an epiphany: "Waste" is just a resource in the wrong place!

So Potato decided to stay at the centre as their mascot. He keeps a diary recording daily life — how food waste is sorted, how the machines work, how volunteers help. His "Potato's Diary" series has become the most popular environmental education reader. Potato's motto: "Nothing is waste — only resources in the wrong place."
