Food For Good Charity Gala Dinner
Since 2014, Food For Good has hosted an annual charity fundraising gala, bringing together donors, sponsors and friends. The evening features a raffle, performances, auctions and concerts; proceeds support our environmental-charity programmes.

New "Joyful Giving" brand · concert and dinner as one
Held on 26 November 2025 in the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre — the 14th edition. The 2025 edition introduced the new "Food For Good · Joyful Giving" brand, merging the concert and charity dinner into a single-evening programme at one venue. FFG founder and patron Regina Leung attended; co-chair Gu Xiao-yang said in her speech, "Music is the common language of humanity. It transcends language and culture, bringing not only comfort and strength but also connecting hearts." Co-chairs for the edition were Dr. Tai Hu Mei-yung, Dr. Flora Cheung and Dr. Li Ai-ping; committee members included Pansy Ho, Yang Xiao-juan, Bian Jiao and Xu Yi-han. Austrian pianist Christoph Hinterhuber appeared as soloist, with conductor Zhang Zhen leading the Pearl River Film Orchestra. The programme included Festive Overture, Ode to the Red Flag, a Hong Kong film-music medley "Unforgettable Times" (weaving in 一生所愛 and 終身美麗), Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major K467 (mvts 2–3), Schubert's Scherzo D.959, selections from the film The Pianist, Thunder and Lightning Polka, and closing with the Radetzky March. Proceeds support food rescue, environmental education and community service programmes.

2024 Food For Good Charity Gala & Hong Kong Palace Museum Open-Air Concert
13th edition · first at the Hong Kong Palace Museum
Held on 18 December 2024 at the open-air plaza of the Hong Kong Palace Museum — the 13th edition and the first time the gala has been staged at the museum. The dinner was paired for the first time with an open-air concert; the "Maestros' Bright Night Hong Kong Concert" at Bamboo Scene Park (竹翠公園) on 17–18 December preceded the main dinner. Deputy Chief Secretary Warner Cheuk (Cheuk Wing-yan) officiated; Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee Leung Chun-ying, Deputy Commissioner Li Yong-sheng of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong, and FFG founder and patron Regina Leung attended. In his speech, Cheuk highlighted that smart food-waste bins had been installed in all public housing estates across Hong Kong, with subsidies extended to private estates; there are more than 200 public food-waste collection points, and daily food-waste collection averaged around 310 tonnes — up about 50% year-on-year — while domestic food waste in October 2024 was five times the level at end-2023. The co-chairs were Gu Xiao-yang (newly named this edition), Dr. Flora Cheung, Dr. Li Ai-ping and Dr. Tai Hu Mei-yung; committee members included Pansy Ho, Yang Xiao-juan (wife of Ray Lui), Bian Jiao and Xu Yi-han.

2023 Food For Good Charity Gala
Spring on Earth, Blossoms in Bloom
Held on 8 May 2023, the eighth edition was staged under the theme "Spring on Earth, Blossoms in Bloom". Chief Executive John Lee officiated for the first time in his CE capacity, pledging to drive community-wide waste reduction and to move Hong Kong towards carbon neutrality — the government aims to halve carbon emissions from 2005 levels by 2035 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050, with municipal solid waste charging slated to launch by end-2023. The co-chairs were Pansy Ho, Dr. Flora Cheung and Dr. Li Ai-ping (newly named co-chair); approximately 800 guests from government, business and the arts attended. FFG founder and patron Regina Leung reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to channelling useful surplus resources to those in need. The evening also highlighted FFG's Tsuen Fook Kui transitional housing project in Tsuen Wan (housing around 400 residents) and the Campus Food For Good programme. Performers included Nancy Wu (in a magenta gown, singing "來日方長" and "至少還有你"), So Wing-hong ("來日方長" duet with Nancy Wu), and Daniel Chan with Niki Chow ("百分百分感覺" duet); Denise Tse, Shaun Tam, Samantha Ko, Lee Shing-chak and Lau Sin-tong, Ray Lui and Yang Xiao-juan attended.

2020 Food For Good Charity Gala
Post-pandemic comeback
Postponed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the seventh edition (labelled 2020) was held on 1 November 2021 — the first fundraising gala after more than a year of suspended events. Chief Secretary John Lee officiated and called on the community to value food, reduce kitchen waste, and achieve the goal of zero food-waste to landfill. FFG Executive Committee Chairman Professor Leung Cho-bun reported that O·PARK1 had processed a cumulative 1,200 tonnes of food waste, averaging about 70 tonnes per month since February 2020. FFG founder Regina Leung, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC Leung Chun-ying, Flora Cheung (first time as co-chair), Pansy Ho, Madame Zheng Mingming, Cally Kwong, and Tang Kui-ming and his wife attended. Attendance was halved versus pre-COVID galas, with around 200 guests seated. So Wing-hong performed "男人不該讓女人流淚" and "獅子山下"; Vivian Lai performed "一人有一個夢想" and "何處覓蓬萊". Kam Ling was the auctioneer for 10 items, including Wuliangye baijiu.

Food For Good Charity Gala 2019
Held on 3 December 2019, with Pansy Ho and Lui Ka-ying serving as co-chairs for the first time, continuing FFG's annual "cherish food, reduce waste" theme. The Guangdong-Hong Kong Cooperation Foundation (IACT) was Diamond Sponsor and DC Foundation was a supporting organisation; IACT was represented by President Law Toi-chun and fellow council members. The evening gathered leaders from government, business, the arts and the community, including FFG Chairman Professor Leung Cho-bun, Wong Kar-wo (President of the Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants & Related Trades), beauty icon Madame Zheng Mingming, auctioneer Kam Ling, Lo Lam, Luisa Maria Lai and Choi Hung-nin. Performers included Ruco Chan (singing "My Happy Era" and "差半步") and soprano Li Yang ("I Could Have Danced All Night" and "一杯美酒"). As of December 2019, FFG's community kitchens and hot-meal centres had distributed more than 1.5 million free hot-meal boxes cumulatively.

Food For Good Charity Gala 2018
Held on 8 October 2018 at the InterContinental Hong Kong, co-chaired by FFG founder Regina Leung (Leung Tong Ching-yee) and beauty icon Madame Zheng Mingming, with Flora Cheung joining the fundraising committee for the first time. Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee Leung Chun-ying attended. The dinner continued FFG's annual "cherish food, reduce waste" tradition with the call to "not be a Big Waster". A charity raffle was held; the live auction featured two Memorigin tourbillon watches sponsored for the occasion — the "Wings of Butterfly" designed by Kam Ling selling for HK$200,000 and the "Mermaid" designed by Choise Tsai for HK$80,000, raising HK$280,000 combined. Performers included Pinky Cheung, Jinny Ng, Fred Cheng and Lo Lam. Shangning Group was the Gold Sponsor, donating RMB 250,000.

Food For Good Fundraising Gala Dinner 2017
T8 typhoon night
Held on 16 October 2017 at the InterContinental Hong Kong on a T8 typhoon night. The evening featured a live auction and raffle. Auction highlights included a 20-year-aged fish maw divided into 20 portions at HK$10,000 each; three premium abalones bought by Madame Zheng Mingming for HK$120,000; and a luxury wristwatch bought by Qiu Hai-ning for HK$230,000 — Qiu flew back into the T8 storm to attend. Performers included Vivian Lai, Edmond Leung, Lee Ka-ting, Luisa Maria Lai, soprano Zhou Xuan and Abalone King Yeung Koon-yat; Kate Tsui and Zhu Jie-yi attended. The charity raffle offered 40 prizes; the top ten winning numbers were 0165, 0152, 0268, 0305, 0276, 0149, 0345, 0335, 0192, 0208.

2016 Food For Good Charity Gala
Held on 13 October 2016. Then Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying urged the community to embrace the "Three Rs" (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and reduce food waste at source. The evening gathered leaders from government, business, community and the arts to support FFG's community kitchens, campus education and hot-meal services.

Food For Good Charity Gala 2015
Held on 29 October 2015 at Hotel ICON, organised by Food For Good with the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA) as Diamond sponsor donating HK$200,000 to advance food-waste reduction. Seven-year-old "little powerhouse voice" Celine Tam opened the evening, followed by soprano Zhou Xuan — named one of China's new top ten sopranos — and Maria Cordero. Guest performers Mrs. Rachel Hui and Lui Lai-kuen personally prepared charity singing acts. The signature "Meet the Chefs" segment featured Abalone King Yeung Koon-yat, Cheng Kam-fu ("Fu gor" of Famous Cuisine), Nancy Sit, food-show host Leung Ka-yuk (Mark Lui's wife) and the three Chiang brothers of an Indonesian restaurant, demonstrating signature dishes live.

2014 Food For Good Charity Gala
Held on 14 October 2014 at PMQ in Central, this was the inaugural edition of Food For Good's annual charity fundraising gala. Organised by Food For Good with Prince Jewellery & Watch as title sponsor, the dinner brought together around 300 leaders from government, business, community and the arts, with Dodo Cheng (Chan Pak-cheung) as MC. The evening raised seed funding for the organisation's food-waste-reduction programmes and inaugurated what has become a yearly tradition.
