Food for Good × Ng Fung Hong Launch "Chak Fung Sau" Community Shop
On 25 May 2025, Food for Good and food distributor Ng Fung Hong (a subsidiary of China Resources Ng Fung) held a partnership signing ceremony and the opening launch of the "Chak Fung Sau" community shop at the Tsuen Fook Kui transitional housing plaza in Tsuen Wan. Operating on a "social cause + business" model, the initiative runs shops inside two Food for Good transitional housing estates — Tsuen Fook Kui (Tsuen Wan) and Kai Fook Kui (Kai Tak) — offering rice, oil, drinks, ready meals, snacks and daily necessities at affordable prices. The project is expected to serve around 5,000 grass-roots families every month.
Ms Liu Ming-fang, General Manager of China Resources Ng Fung, noted that the project combines employment support with community service to help under-privileged groups develop. Ms Winnie Ho, Secretary for Housing of the HKSAR Government, emphasised that the shops serve not only Tsuen Fook Kui residents but also the wider grass-roots neighbourhoods nearby. Food for Good founder Mrs Leung Tong Ching-yee said: "The shop prioritises social impact, not profit," and previewed regular health talks and workshops for the public in the future.
The Tsuen Wan branch is located at Tsuen Fook Kui Transitional Housing, 3 Luen Yan Street, Tsuen Wan (next to the bus stop), and is open daily from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Enquiries: info@foodforgood.org.hk or +852 6218 7200.
