Amoy Gardens Food Waste Recycling Program Opening Ceremony

"Food For Good" participated in the opening ceremony of "Food Waste Recycling Program" organized by"Amoy Gardens Owners Joint Committee".

"Amoy Gardens Owners Joint Committee" organized "Food Waste Recycling Program", which lasted for nine months, at Amoy Gardens. "Food For Good" and "Environmental Innovation Council" assisted in organizing the program. The opening ceremony was held at Amoy Plaza on 8 June, 2014. Mrs. Regina Leung Tong Ching-yee, Founder and Patron of Food For Good, gave a speech and acknowledged the efforts of different groups in the community on promoting environmental protection. Mr Yip Hing-kwok, MH, JP, the chairman of Amoy Gardens Owners Joint Committee, introduced the launching of the program at Amoy Gardens. Charmaine Cheung, the Executive Chef of City’super Superlife Culture Club, demonstrated how to use leftover food to create wonderful dishes. Prof. Joe Leung Cho-bun, MH, JP, Vice-chairman of Food For Good, shared information on the problem of food waste in Hong Kong. Furthermore, Mr. Chan from Environmental Innovation Council delivered a talk on green planting. Tips on treasuring food and environmental protection were shared with citizens.
